AIIMS Results 2016 were declared on Tuesday which saw 5 students from the state crack the exam and get high ranks, out of which, 3 of them also steered their way into the JIPMER(Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research) ‘top 100 list’. Sunil Agarwal, the centre director of Akash Institute pointed out that cracking AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER at a go is something special and interestingly, the success rate has been high this year. The students who came out with flying colors along with their school and rank is tabulated below

Name School Name AIIMS MBBS Rank JIPMER Rank
Anubhav Das RKM Narendrapur 30 50
Arijit Konar Grace Ling Liang 59 NA
Dhritiman Chatterjee Calcutta Boys School 64 19
Soumya Jyoti Raha Assembly of God Church 76 36

Anubhav Das of RKM NArendrapur has decided to go for AIIMS-Delhi mainly because he wants to “specialize in research with medical science”. According to him, research offers greater depth into science and he would any day choose to prevent than cure a disease. Arijit Konar, another fellow topper of the AIIMS MBBS says that his first choice is AIIMS-Delhi and his fall back is AIIMS Bhubaneshwar as it is much closer to his home. He didn’t appear for the JIPMER examination as he was confident of cracking the test but never really hoped for such a great rank, said the Harry Potter fan. Arijit also has a fantastic ISC score of 97.5%. He is however interested in staying back in the country and aspires to do his specialization in cardio surgery. However, with a rank of 19 in JIPMER, the Calcutta Boys topper is still dazed at his success. That’s right. Dhritiman wants to become a surgeon and later pursue higher studies abroad. He however, like every other guy of his age, loves watching television and playing computer games. Soumya Jyoti Raha of Assembly of God Church School shared insights on how to crack such competitive. He says he owes his phenomenal success to the fact that on average he studied for 10 hours and his hard work. Chitra Raha, mother of Soumya, was ecstatic and informed that her son has always been the topper in his school thereby describing their anticipation for something big. He wants to join an AIIMS. Students prefer to study in AIIMS or JIPMER more than in any medical college of Bengal because the infrastructure is much better and the students get better practical experience, added Sunil Agarwal.
