CBSE Syllabus 2016- They have added yoga in their curriculum and has also preferred to include yoga as an activity for assessment under Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation (CCE) of students. Grades will also be provided for yoga in report card from now onwards.
The Board is also asking schools to check in the controversial “Common Yoga Protocol” developed by The Ministry of ‘AYUSH’ which begins with the chanting of ‘Om’ and ‘Shlokas’ which is practiced by students of classes VI and above.
CBSE has issued a circular to the Principals of all the affiliated schools which states them to participate in the International Yoga day events on ‘voluntary basis’ and advised them to carry out activities for the whole session. They want yoga to be a part of daily school routine.
“Such assessment/grades shall be depicted in the Student’s Annual Report card,” the circular said. CBSE said that the entire school’s population may participate in mass yoga demonstration “at least once a week early in the morning during assembly hours”.
