Pasti ki Masti Donates to Build Dreams of several Students

Waste newspapers and magazines donated by TOI readers have helped Pasti ki Masti, a TOI-Times Foundation initiative, keep the torch of knowledge alight among poor children. Pasti ki Masti recently paid the school fees of five girls -all bright students remarkable for their determination e amid gloom and kept alive their hopes of a bright future.

Ekta and Trupti Patni
Ekta and Trupti are sisters and they stay with their parents and two other sisters in a chawl at Krishnanagar. Ekta studies in Class 9 while Trupti is in Class 6 at a private school in Krishnanagar. Ekta wishes to become a civil engineer and support her family. Her parents have to borrow from friends to pay their fees. Trupti wishes to become a doctor and serve the poor. Their father and mother are vegetable vendors who earn about Rs 250 a day. They have 4 daughters and want them all to study. Pasti ki Masti paid Rs 500 as school fee for Ekta and Rs 3400 for Trupti.

Hiral Parmar
Hiral a bright eighth grade student, scored 78% in her first term last year. She desperately wants to stay in Ahmedabad for further studies. But her parents can’t afford to pay her fees and had decided to shift her to a village school from next academic session. Hiral told the Pasti ki Masti team that she wanted to be a doctor and that she needs to stay in the city. Pasti ki Masti team supported Hiral by paying her annual school fee of Rs 5,000.

Khushiand Pooja Patni
Khushi and Pooja are both extraordinary kids and take their studies seriously. Khushi is in eighth standard and has scored 76% in her first term. She wishes to become a doctor and earn enough so support her parents, and treat her father’s medical condition. Her sister Pooja is in class 6 and recently secured 89% in her first-term exams. Pooja wishes to be an IAF pilot and serve the nation. Both sisters stay in a rented room at Gheekanta with their parents and one brother, Divya, who studies in class 10. Their father, is physically challenged. He works as a helper in a sewing machine company and earns Rs 3,500 a month. Their mother works as a railway catering helper. This month the parents were not able to pay the sisters’ fees. The Pasti ki Masti team paid Rs 3200 towards the secondterm fee of Khushi and Pooja.
