With growing number of road accidents and the celebration of Road Safety Week, several city schools had taken up the cause and conducted workshops, planned year-long activities and held performances to spread awareness. Various sections of the Cathedral and John Connon have put up the cause on their calendars for a complete year. The school is conducting age appropriate activities along with the V Citizens Action Network (VCAN). In the school’s infant section, a bulletin board on the topic will be prepared and will be displayed as a permanent fixture for three months, junior school students will have a song on road safety and visit a traffic park and have interactions with traffic officials. The higher class students will work towards spreading the message on road safety by interviewing drivers, policemen and talking to domestic helps about it.

Similar activities were done at Podar International School as a part of the Road Safety Week. The students were given an orientation on several issues regarding road safety. They were also asked to spread the message on awareness to as many as they can. Students also created posters with various messages and stood holding them outside the school premises.
