Colleges and Rural Villages will get Free WI-FI

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, while presenting the state budget in the Delhi Assembly in June last year, announced that all colleges and rural villages in the city will get free WI-FI in the first page.

  • The government will gift 8000 new classrooms and 25 schools to the people of Delhi by June this year.
  • 5.908 crore allocated for the municipal corporation and Rs. 4.993 crore to be returned to centre as loans.
  • District Urban Development Authority to be set up for development and maintenance works.
  • All colleges and rural villages in the city to get free Wi-Fi in the first phase.
  • 9.836 crore proposed to be allocated for education.
  • The government wanted to make Delhi fully literate and making education useful in everyday lives.
  • 20000 permanent teachers to be appointed to balance the student-teacher ratio in government schools.
  • Plan to install CCTV cameras in all classrooms of government schools to create an environment of responsibility and transparency.
  • All govt. sports facilities, stadiums will be available to public on nominal payment of fee under ‘Pay and Play Scheme’.
  • Government planned to build 236 new schools and to make 50 schools into model schools.
  • 4.787 crore allocated for health. Government to set up 1000 new “Mohalla Clinics”. 500 in the current year.
  • Three new it is and five new polytechnic institutes to be opened.
  • Poor to be provided free bed service online in 42 hospitals. Services for free dialysis for poor to be improved.
