Court Permits Private Unaided Schools to Hike Fees by 15%

The Bombay High Court has given permission to private unaided schools to increase their fees up to 15% for the next 2016-17 academic year. In an interim order, a division bench of Justice Anoop Mohta and Justice Amjad Sayedallowed the educational institutions to increase their fees but also said that it shall be subjected to the court’s final orders.The judges were hearing petitions filed by the schools, including Pune’s Vibgyor High School that had challenged the Maharashtra Educational Institutions [Regulation of Fee] (MEIRF) Act.
