ISC examination has already begun on 18th February while ICSE examination will commence from 29th February. ISC practicals had begun on 8th February. CBSE examinations will commence from 1st March. Doctors has suggested not to over-consume caffeine as its over-consumption increases the pulse rate and upsets the sleep pattern. La Martiniere for Boys had organised two-hour’s session for students of Class IX and XI to guide them in keeping stress at bay and using their time optimally. As a part of the exercise, the boys were asked to sketch a lion’s cartoon while memorising the lyrics of a certain song. Only a few could memorise but maximum of them could not do it simultaneously. Sanjay Garg, senior consultant psychiatrist, Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, who conducted the session suggested the students through the session that if a student studies while listening to a song, he/she will not be able to concentrate on their studies since the song will add to the distraction. He also recommended students to take short breaks rather than studying for an hours at a stretch.

He also recommended a few exercises for the boys such as solving puzzles that can be completed in 30 seconds to improve their attention and concentration. Doctors said that students should start retiring to bed by 10.30pm at least three days before the start of the exams. If a stimulant is required to keep yourself awake, it is advisable to drink tea instead of coffee which has higher caffeine content.
