ICSE and ISC results 2016 made everyone surprised as new schools storm into the merit liststatewide.While notable schools like La Martiniere for Boys, Don Bosco School and Vivekananda MissionSchool repeated their good results, schools like Bhowanipur Gujarati Education Society School, NationalEnglish School, St Joan's School and St Mary's School, Howrah, stole the spotlight with excellent results.

In ICSE, Medha Gangopadhyay and Shreya Agarwal launched their school- St Joan’s School to the meritlist. Sayantan Pradhan from St Mary’s Convent School, Howrah, Unnati Jain from DPS Megacity andTushita Basak from Loreto Day School, Elliot Road, also made their schools proud by attaining ranks.

The progress was similar in ISC as well. St Joseph’s College (school dept) Darjeeling and National EnglishSchool were the new competitors. Mrinal Pradhan from the Darjeeling school scored a wonderful 98.75%. Adrija Bhowmick from GD Birla Centre for Education, Ketul Mehta and Kavita Desai from Bhowanipur Gujrati Education Society School secured the third rank with the same score.

“This is the first time we have bagged state rank. The teachers have put in a lot of effort and the result reflects that, “Debjani Ghosh, principal of St Joans School.

“Among 228 students, 46 scored above 95% from the school. Another 80 got more than 90%“ said principal Sharmistha Banerjee of Vivekanand Mission School.

La Martiniere for Boys has lived up to expectation as well. “I am pleased with the results. The teachershave put in a lot of hard work to bring success,“ said principal John Rafi. In ICSE, 74 students got above 90%. In ISC, 87 bagged over 90%., 35 students scored more than 95%. La Martiniere for Boys has lived up to the expectation as well.

At Future Foundation School, 45% candidates crossed above 90% in ICSE and 62% in ISC-science. In humanities, eight out of 11 students secured the 90% mark, said vice-principal Krishnokoli Mukherjee.

Don Bosco School, Heritage School and Rammohan Mission School had 71, 90 and 34 students, respectively, scoring more than 90% in ISC. The numbers stood at 98, 60 and 77 students for ICSE.
