With the recent buzz world-over, centered around Innovation, The NITI Aayog has initiated the Innovation Drive in India with the process of setting up 500 tinkering labs in schools and about 100 incubation centres acroos the schools in the country. The government under Atal Innovation Mission(AIM) will provide a one time establishment grant of Rs. 10 Lakh for each lab over a period of 5 years covering operational expenses which leads to an investment of 20 lakh Rs per school selected in setting up the labs.

Both academic and non academic institutions will receive the financial support from the government to establish new AIM Incubation centres. They will be established in areas such as manufacturing, transport, energy , health, education, agriculture, water and sanitation.  Under the mission, a grant of Rs 10 crore will be provided for establishing incubation centre over a period of five years towards capital investment as well as operation and maintenance expenses. The schools will be selected on the basis of a select set of key performance indicators. This new age business revolution is all about startups and innovative businesses. Even a decade back, business organizations were rigid on their establishments and did not entertain any change in the fundamental ideas of business. But the last decade saw a paradigm shift with businesses centered around ideas which are more eco-friendly and tech savvy. Thus with the advent of such innovative drives  the school level sure puts India at the world stage.
