Govandi, a suburb, usually associated with slums, school dropouts and low human development index, will host a three-day festival later this month to give students a chance to showcase their talent in an inter-school level.
From 19th January 2016, the Govandi Edufest 2016 will host various competitions such as fancy dress, folk dance, singing, storytelling, elocution, quiz, and drama and personality contests. The fest will attempt to instil the importance of education among people in the M east ward.
The festival is expected to see participation from over 100 schools in the area.
