Allowing adult writers for students with special needs is among of the concessions provided to them during state board examinations which will be extended to special students in the state. The education department had announced concessions for students in schools affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in a government resolution which was issued recently. Students with special need require evaluation and exam patterns which are different from other students. By giving them concessions during examinations will provide them opportunities to come to the same level asother students. According to the new set of concessions, the students will be able to avail the services of an adult writer in Class X and XII board examinations. The writer will be provided as required and cannot be a family member of the student. The writer must be approved by the school only after verification. For school examinations, students will be able to get a writer who is a year younger.
