Schools in Mumbai Visited TOI Press

Children from different schools of Mumbai visited the Times of India press in Kandivali to get a glimpse of processes involved in printing a newspaper as part of the Mumbai for Kids initiative. As children entered, they learnt their first lesson of the workshop. A group of 60 students, accompanied with their parents learnt ways of how a printing press works. Press employees took the children through the entire process of what the press actually does. The students were explained various stages of printing, colours used for printing, types of papers used and the metal plates used. The children were also shown the printing machine and its functions, different types of printing stations where inventory was stored, colours were made and the DTP machine.The session also gave budding journalists a chance to look behind what does into a newspaper.
