Phil Shermon, director of London based Booster Cushion Theatre for children displayed theatre with comical wizardry on stage at the Dum Dum community hall hosted by Jhalapala, a drama school for kids.
The students were left awe struck by his wits, originality and comical timings.
Shangon Chakraborty, a class II student of St. James’ School was busy on crunching chips in between playing with props till Sherman showed his tricks. The little boy sat down in the front row, watching him with great attention.
A class IX student of South Point School was in doubt of playing Red Riding Hood’s grandma before Sherman taught him how to get into the skin of the character just by his facial expressions.
The team performed The Generous King and The sensitive Queen from the Vikram and Betal series and an improvised version of Little Red Riding Hood.
Thus, the drama was a successful event with students from different school collaborated and had fun.
