Students appearing for Indian Certificate for Secondary Examination (ICSE) will soon have to appear for lesser number of subjects as board is planning to merge three science papers and history, civics and geography papers. ICSE has planned to club three science papers- physics, chemistry and biology into one science paper of 100 marks. Similarly, history, civics and geography might also be clubbed in to a 100 mark paper. Equal weightage of 33.33 will be given to each of the three component. English I, II papers of 100 marks each, a second language paper, a mathematics paper and an application subject of 100 marks each will remain unchanged. Changes in question pattern might also take place keeping competitive exams in mind. There will be more of MCQs and short questions.
