When the option for taking up a school based exam was introduces in the year 2011, it interested a lot of students who didn’t want to face the stress of board exams. However, it has been witnessed that students are opting for board exams instead of school-based exams, especially over the last two years. In the year 2015, while 5781 students opted for the school-based exam in Tamil Nadu; 27,704 took the board-based examination.
